Opening sequence

I looked at videos on YouTube of opening scenes of films. I looked at scenes from Watchmen, RocknRolla and Superbad.


Superbad is probably the most simple of the three scenes, however it is my favorite. I like its retro style and i feel that it gives a small look in to the type of characters. I like the simplicity of the titles and the way that they have used silhouettes.

This sequence for watchmen is 5 minutes of very short clips fading in and out of eachother which have been slowed down a lot to about ten or fifteen seconds each. The clips show the news and issues which are referred  to in the film.


The thing i like about the titles sequence for RocknRolla is the way that the pictures seem to still be being drawn as the sequence develops. This gives a rough sort of feel to the film. Also the soundtrack helps to give it this rough look because it is very roughly played guitar with rock drums.
